- Who is a lone soldier?
- Under IDF regulations, a lone soldier is a soldier in compulsory service who has no family support in Israel. The definition covers soldiers whose parents live abroad, as well as soldiers with no functioning family support in Israel, among them those estranged from their parents, orphans and foster-care graduates. - Is my donation tax deductible?
- Yes. The association holds public institution status for donations under Section 46 of the Israeli Income Tax Ordinance, so a donation is eligible for a tax benefit in Israel. Donors in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada can give through JGive and receive a tax credit in their own country.
- How can I donate?
- By credit card through iCount, by Bit, or by bank transfer to the association's account at Bank Hapoalim. All of the options are collected on the donation page.
- I am donating from outside Israel. What are my options?
- You can give through JGive, which allows a tax credit in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, or by international bank transfer using the SWIFT and IBAN details shown on the donation page.
- Where does the money go?
- All of the association's activity is voluntary and is funded by donations alone. Donations go to the four program areas: laptops, direct financial assistance, equipment for the soldier's home, and events for the field units.
- I am a lone soldier and I need help. How do I apply?
- You can contact us directly using the phone number or email address on the contact page. Requests also reach us through the welfare officers in the units and through social services.
- Is the association registered?
- Yes. Ron for Lone Soldiers is a registered Israeli non-profit association, registration number 580745461, holding Section 46 approval under the Income Tax Ordinance.
- Who founded the association?
- The association was founded by Ron Frumerman, who over more than 20 years initiated and produced dozens of events for the welfare of lone soldiers.
